Chevettes axle

How mutch hp is needed to broke the chevettes original axle? I´m fitting a turbo to my 2,0 chevette and the axle is stock, because I don´t know which would be the easiest axle to put there.

Well 100 is the official line but we've heard tell of 105, 110 etc. and a couple of cases of 'I don't know how powerful my pinto/1800 was but the axle never broke'..... If oyu're not bothered about it breaking down then just leave it and hope! As far as swaps go, the best axle by far would be the Isuzu Piazza rear as the had the same track as chevettes and also discs.... although you could always go the full manta set-up root. What engine and 'box are you running?

Au contrair neily, he's talking about a...yugoslavian was it?...chevette. Check out the reg. no. in the pics - either way definitely a european chevette.

Mmm!!!!?
Plan change afoot, 70s street racer look lower back lower front more, lose shiny bits, gain dice(optional). Axle break at 100ish BHP presume this at axle not fly wheel. SOOOO we talking 120+ at flywheel wid loadsa revs possibly and 4.11diff. We lose 1256 fit ???? in lightened shell, picture you getting.

yeah the chevette axle will take 100 or so brake but it the torque that will kill an axle really the piazza axle is a good swap take loads of stick has an LSD and is only 2" wider than the chevtte axle you would need to convert from the torque tube setup to a 5 link though (not a bad thing though)
