This could be a good idea for the maintenance section - list of suppliers. If everyone lists who they get their parts from I'll make up a dedicated section.

Well mine are as follows:

Martin at Parts For Older Cars
01623 658 041
[email protected]

Pentland Components in Edinburgh (surprised at how much a local factors can source!)

Speedy Spares on the south coast seem to stock a right bit.

And of course the good old ebay.

Also the Cavalier and Chevette Club are good for sourcing those hard to find bits. Brian Wilcox is their spares man but you do need to be a member - only 15 quid a year and lots of events around the Midlands for all you midlanders.

So include all your sources and we can compile a list. I'll move this post into the General Discussion section and make it a sticky for now.

Well even tho i have never bought anything from there, the one place that has loads of Opel Kadett bits is ( Drum Roll )

German Ebay!

www.Ebay.de

Same old ebay, just in German.

Got to find a good translation website now to make sense of it all

Freetranslation.com does a passable job of translating the german into english, although often with amusing phrases produced.

Another place for Kadett bits is Dr Manta in germany also, but delivery charges are a little excessive.

don't discount your local motor factors for bits. mine happens to be Bennetts, http://www.bennetts.com/ and for £42 i bought NGK plugs, HT leads, points, condensor, dizzy cap, oil filter, air filter and 5L of oil. i also bought a HD Banner battery, which has the same code number as a mini's, for £28.

Am I right in thinking that I can use most parts from a kadett c on my ickle vauxhall chevette?

If so I think Dr. Manta may be coming into some money in the near future.

Btw his shop is closed until 30th November, shame.
