Some one needs to save this from a nasty end. Just hope someone responsible gets it and not a Chav who is going to wreck it! :x

Regards
Mark, who just got hold of two really good Doors, two realy good bumpers and a realy good Rad :D :)

...and hopefully a set of headlights will have/are going to land on your doorstep! Sent them yesterday morning so should be with you on monday.

That Chevette targa looks fantastic! I came across it somewhere before. It's a novel idea but not one I would consider unless I found a chevette 2 door saloon with a rusty roof skin - and lets be honest if the roof is too far gone to save, the rest of the car doesn't bear thinking about! Would be a great car for the lovely warm summer we are bound to have this year.... somebody save her before a ned gets his hands on her....

It says it was made by vauxhall as a prototype and is the only known example. WTF? it's a new one on me, not sure i believe 'em. I don't reckon it looks quite factory. Maybe a coachbuilder did it?

it could well be a prototype. there are quite a few opel kadetts that have had the same treatment and sold by the manufacturer. targa is the company that do the conversion.
if it has pistons or tits, its going to be expensive

Oh yeah - I hadn't actually noticed the word targa!!! There's that kadett picture we were talking about a while ago - the dutch one with the crazy camber on the rear wheels. Pretty much the same treatment I think.

Looks like the Kadett version is quite common in Europe

Back to the Targa at the top of the thread,
Has anyone checked the `bid history`? One guy`s been bidding against himself & keeps putting the price up..... & He`s the only bidder!....Is it anyone from here? :P

He's not bidding against himself. Someone else is trying to outbid him but he has put in a much higher proxy bid to start with.

No they`re not John, the `other`bidders amounts would show up in the bid history. I used to always stick a high proxy bid on items I want, can`t be ar$ed with small bids, and when the `newbie` puts his mulitute of 20p`s on, they show up under my bid.
I`ve now seen the light & just `Snipe` anything I want in the last seconds, stops the newbies pushing the price up

I've figured it - he was bidding against the reserve. Obviously it was set at £1500. I dunno what the multitude of £1500 bids are though...

Yes, it`s happened to me before, I go back to add a bit on, just to be sure, & the bid goes up. I think it might be to do with IP addys ...different addy on a different day?.....I dunno, don`t really care to be honest  :D

you can increase your bid if you havent met th ereserve and it will take yuo to the max. of your proxy bid until the reserve is met. it treats the 'reserve' as another bid in that sense

but poor old mint still seemed confused about the concept about bidding against yourself, it was intended to clarify the effect of bidding against a reserve. grrrr! :P  i'll just go and sit in the corner :P
