What engine can I drop into an Opel Kadett C Coupe 78

From the humble 1256 to meaty V8`s, swaps, rebuilds, tunning, etc.

cool, yep get it ripped to bits and let the convertion start ........ i was gonna strip my car down and get it painted this year but had it out on a drift day event a few weeks ago, and its so much fun to drive, so looks like it will be next year before i take it to bits .................

What engine mount rubbers are you using as the 1.2 rubbers look fieble compared to the 1.8 rubbers on the manta.

Did you have to cut the flap of metal on the lower subframe where the exhaust will go through?

thanks.

Before you say anything..... no i cant spell or type!

The post above is my own personal opinion, it is not meant to upset or cause offence, if it does bugger off.

Hmm where have I been for so long! All this talk of Kadett Coupes and I've been missing it! I got a 78 C Coupe with a Manta 1800 engine and gearbox in it. Its a bit of a shed at the moment, but its great fun to drive now that I've finally got it back on the road. Didnt do the conversion myself, but if theres anything you wanna ask about it then ask away. My idea's always been to take the 1800 out and drop an xe in, thats why I got the car really, but you know... . moneys tight etc. So for now I'm just enjoying having a fun car again.
Used to have a MK1 Astra with XE conversion and boy was that fun.
Gets a bit boring driving around in my 1256 HA van.
So finally after sitting on my drive for about 2 yrs the KADETTS BACK AGAIN! !
Ever seen this guys site?

Cool. Plenty to do to mine too. At the moment I'm converting the front brakes to Manta Discs and twin pot calis. Then I'm gonna try and source a Manta A back axle for it. The interior is shocking and it needs a full respray.
Check out these other links.

Hey cheers, that beevers site is great, do need to do plenty of welding, have to have the drivers wing off and do a massive panel, and some sill work, but its all good fun. I just dread it when you start tappin, as more and more disappears, but can't wait to do myself a nice paint scheme. Think I need a new pass door too, the bottoms peeled and its lost the lines so might as well replace.
We can keep each other up to date on the progress eh? :D

That Beevers lot, they seem to have exactly the same website as Hadrians. Wonder if they would reply to me?!
