I would - depending on whether I had enough money or not. Does anyone know how much New Zealand is worth?

Don't bump it in a UK forum when you can post in a New Zealand Chevette/Gemini forum. Just register/log on and put it in the cars for sale section. http://nzgem.proboards51.com/
I don't recall seeing it on Trademe, either. http://www.trademe.co.nz/

PS, an "'86"? I think not :o

What's with the attitude?
A suggestion for a NZ chevette/Gemini site and a query about a trademe listing is no reason for the abuse, is it?
The "86" query is because they were taken off the New Zealand market a couple of years earlier.

Now now chaps. We don't want to sit here in the UK and watch a couple of Kiwis tear strips off each other.

The admins decide if a thread should have been bumped or not. Likewise if something is not appropriate for advertising, then it shall be removed. Neither have really been an issue for us yet. Advertising a NZ car on what is largely a UK forum may seem a tad hopeful, but again nothing wrong with it. Who knows, one of us here in the UK could fall in love and arrange a shipping container. There are a few users in NZ, so one of them could have wanted to take it on. However, as the old saying goes, other advertising mediums are available so other sites like Trademe would be worthwhile.

No worries, Doive.
I expect he'd show some respect in person  I simply believe there is no excuse for the abusive, hostile posts he's been making.

To the OP, I understood you to simple wish to sell the car and the bump comment was because you were unlikely to sell it on a UK forum but would have a better chance on a NZ site - however, re-reading it, I should have put "why' rather than "don't".
The other NZ people on this forum, as far as I know, are also members of the forum I posted the link to, BTW.
The "Westie" comment is rather amusing - as far as I know, I'm the only one on the forums, having moved here about six years ago from Wellington/Upper Hutt, and my car is currently stock (as were most of my others, even the original AM radios 8) ) but I must confess it's getting an XE (redtop) on throttle bodies. Still won't be running big wheels and low springs though - I like the standardish look and I'm not interested in 'drifting'.
I've also seen three other Chevettes out West in 'as new' condition.

I know what you mean about 'dick heads' wrecking it - lost one of mine to a former friend who was stupid and a couple of times I was trying to buy a car that fell through because the owners crashed them.
What you do with your car is your choice, just be a shame to wreck it if you don't need to and there's someone who may want to rebuild or restore it - heck, if I had the space I'd be interested m'self so I could keep my current hatch stock.

Doive, if any of you UK guys are interested in importing a car from NZ, have a look at the Trademe site I posted a link to earlier and if anyone finds something of interest, one of my uncle's business associates also owns a car shipping company* - NZ$75 per cubic meter, IIRC. It's actually primarily US and UK to NZ but he should be able to sort something out or provide an alternative, UK based, company.

*Darn, I've misplaced his card but if there's interest I'll check it out.

Trouble is they're goingf for silly money down here as well - the scrot's tend to butcher them for 'drifting', or they're simply crashed.

If you missed the earlier reference to the site, THE online trading place down here is Trademe - http://www.trademe.co.nz/ - just do a quick search for what catches your eye.

It's to put the thread back to the top of the forum and to give it an orange 'post unread' icon. You might also see:

That's very kind of you, to be honest there's little I need but a friend is in need of a standard diff' , rather awkward to transport and, unless you're actually breaking the car, something that'd make it very difficult to sell 'entire'. When I do the rebuild/repower, I may just give him my spare, anyway.

Cheers - those tyre kickers can be a real pain in the proverbial, can't they :)
