Make sure at least one of you takes, or preferably both of you take a camera.

So we can take photos of each other so we'll know what we look like when we meet?

You can't look for someone who looks like I have no idea what you look like since I know exactly what I look like and therefore I won't look like who you're looking for.

Wot?

Oh yeh, the cars.......

and me, didnt see you though. plenty of shiny HSs and a couple of HSRs . there was a chevette with an XE in using a manta b axle (the yellow one harry) but i couldnt find the owner to have a chat :( )

there were some lovely droopsnoot an dflatnose firenzas two (favourite being a black flatnose firenza)

one firenza and one HS actually ran up the hillclimb but for me the highlight was th eto red audi quattros and the metro 6R4. the motorbike powered 1400 mini was insane also!

Anyway, it's not entirely useless - Tim & I have plenty to talk about!

Well, I'm going to be brave and post 'em here.

Think Andy's got to promise to look at every photo on both forums tho, for being impatient and nagging!

Old and not quite so old:

Image

I spoke to the guy with this HSR but forgot to ask him why it was black!

Image

Didn't see a black Firenza, but I rather liked this red one:

Image

Image

The ex George Hill DTV built HSR BBU 100T turned up on a trailer:

Image

Tidy silver flat front Firenza:

Image

And some tidy HPCs:

Image

Image

Best HSR there, I think, was probably this 2.6 which I think was Terry Cobbold's:

Image

Image

Image

Some HSs were more standard.....

Image

....than others:

Image

Think this guy must compete, as it had a cage etc.:

Image

I took a couple of photos of the Chevette with the XE in it, for information for those who are doing one.....

Image

Image

.....and some of axle mountings for Peter and others. This is standard HSR:

Image

and this is BBU 100T:

Image

Most of the cars seemed to be just on display, but there was an HS and an ex Transpeed Firenza competing:

Image

...as well as a couple of the opposition's HS equivalent:

Image

and some other interesting stuff, including this sweet little Abarth 850:

Image

Supposedly WBB, Russell Brookes and Pentti Airikkala were about, but I didn't see them. Sadly Big Gerry couldn't be there, but Nail was:

I think I must have missed you, Tim - didn't see any Novadrive shirts! We didn't get there 'till 12 so only saw the afternoon runs. That Squattro - the more tuned one - seemed a bit of a handful tho, & I've always had a soft spot for 6R4s. Unfortunately it got so dark up the hill in the afternoon I didn't get any decent photos.

Our local hillclimb used to run a class for sidecar outfits - they're pretty scary as well!

Sweeeeeeeet. Dribble. The black HS/HSR was in Retro cars a few months back, the guy just decided he liked black better than the standard silver, and I think he is right. Awesome looking car.

Now that's odd, 'cos there was a photo of it in the droopsnoot news next to DEB 508V, and the caption implied it had always been black......
