Kadett for free

Postby ChevetteCharlie » 22 Aug 2005, 08:58

I posted an ad on here about 12 months ago for a free kadett from a bloke at a mate's BBQ.
Went to same mate's BBQ yesterday (annual event!) and the bloke still has the kadett but it will soon be going to the tip.
Was going to re-post the ad but it must have been on the old site...
Any chance of recovering the old post for the contact details??

Neily Edit........... Here ya go Charlie, is this it?

I know of a 1200 Kadette Coupe here in Dorset that needs taking home and looking after.
Was 'given' it for free at the weekend, but unfortunately I don't have anywhere to put it :(
It you're interested, e-mail Grant at [email protected]

Yep, that's the one Neily, thanks! Didn't get any responses back then but this site has had somewhat of a resurgence since last summer!

The car is in the vicinity of Winterborne Stickland, nr Blandford, Dorset.

I didn't get much chance to talk to the chap yesterday (he was arriving just as I was leaving) but the first thing he said to me was did I want any parts before it went to the tip, so you kadetters might want to be quick!

The post above is my own personal opinion, it is not meant to upset or cause offence, if it does bugger off.

Well I'd be up for it, if it's not totally on the floor. Consider him emailed, if I'm not treading on anyone's toes!

Went to see this today! It's a '76 / '77 1200S.

It's not pretty. It's definitely not worth transporting any distance and really it's oily bits only - it's well beyond rebuilding.

As I'm local, can I suggest if anyone wants any bits they PM me this week & if there's enough interest to make it worth bothering with I'll get it & break it?

No, there's effectively no useable panels on it.

Hey Harry,
What are the bumpers like ? Are they post- facelift
with the black strips ? That's what I have on my 'new'
'78 coupe, wouldn't mind changing them for plain chrome.
I'm not too far from Poole (Lymington).
Cheers

Having seen it, Charlie, I doubt it!

At least one of the bumpers is pretty ripply - you might be better off looking at MJS Motors post in the Bodywork & Fittings forum, he's got a sensible set. I could pick them up next time I'm up that way.

So is it going to be worth bothering with this thing? No-one really want anything off it?

Hey thanks Harry,
I'll drop MJS a line & let you know if they
need picking up, there'll be a pint in it for
you.
Cheers :)

This thing's still there o I've put my name to it; I'll be picking it up in the next week or so.

(that should have been SO I put my name to it - tho I was quite surprised myself!)

Anyone need / want any bits?

Hi HArry,
Racer 86 needs a set of door locks if it comes with keys and locks ?
After his were destroyed by vandals trying to nick it ?

Anything useable inside ?
What colour interior ?
I could do with a Dash top, vents and switches if you get it ?
Cheers
