Fibreglassing bumper to bodywork

Postby Raver » 14 Dec 2006, 16:11

Ive got hold of my hs bumper and it was fibreglassed to the carit was fitted too before so needs some work to clean up the edge against the body work.
The question is do i spend the time smooth off the bumper and leave it seperate to the body, or do as was done before and fibreglass it to the bodywork. The only worry i had about this was catching the bumper as its lowered and cracking all the filler.

Mines not `glassed on, it`s screwed.

I left the original bumper irons on the car, wrapped the ends with foam & tape to make a snug fit into the back of the HS front.
Put some rubber panel edging strip around the HS front.
2 screws under each of the front wheel arches hold the whole lot on.

It will need to come off for repair one day, `tis all cracked at N/S corner after an argument with a dog!.......
