Nice work - I love a good estate! The project sounds good too - make sure you keep us up to date with progress reports. I have to say I know nothing about Chevette models/sales in europe (being as it seems to be mostly kadetts that were sold over your way) so I'm off to have a scout around the net (inc. your site) and see what I can find out :D

chevettes are very rare in austria and germany, and this is the only chevette caravan i have ever seen here.

does anyone know , how much chevette caravans were built, and much of them are right hand drive?

Can't quite claim that, but I did put a caravan on the back of a hatch, then tow it to Germany and back. 10' Sprite 400 to be precise- weighed 600kg so just about OK.

Keep the bonnet body colour! Looks superb, especially with the HS alloys.

Is that an E21 I see next to it?

yes, that is a 315 E21, "wintercar" of my friend.
his former "wintercar" was the orange kadett c , which is now mine, also only used in winter :)
my "normal" daily driver is a sierra cosworth 4x4 with stage 2 , about 300Hp.

that 2.0L fits in nice like it was meant to be there. why the heII didn't Vauxhall make an official version :x
you left hooker boys have things much easier with your brake servo out of the induction manifolds way but possibly come a bit stuck when trying to fit an XE in with the exhaust manifold.

I see you've found yourself a bonnet anyway, but I have a couple of pictures in my members thread of my grey vauxhall with a black bonnet. Looked very cool I thought. Certainly worth considering.

What he said!

Love the steels too - are they Mattigs?

the lip is made of two frontspoilers from a VW Golf MkI, but i had to be modified to fit on the frontpanel.
i think, you can still buy it at the vw dealer.

the steel wheels are only the wheels for working and standing :-) i don't know exactly, but i think they are from a Kadett B rallye, 5,5x13, offset about 22.

Thats great thanks. I will look into options for making a lip. I found one on an old volvo that looked suitable, but over here it is a lot easier to use japanese parts as they are so cheap.

It seems that picture didn't work??
