polishing!

Postby shuvit-tim » 12 Feb 2005, 20:34

needing a polish!? cheeky sod! i'll have you know the paint is flecking off so no amount of polish was ever going to save her!

Although my motorsport preparation friend, whilst being paid by me, didn't waste any time at all (honest) by polishing the rear badge within an inch of its life. i'll try and find it and post it in my page so that you can see!

Thats what you get for being one of the first posters! I was trying to think of something catchy to say, and Doive taking the piss out of Doive's orange heap was by no means as funny as Doive taking the piss out of Tim's lovingly prepared car.

I had thought about slagging Neily's white dials as I think they are a bit suspect, but I fear he may not speak to me. Ever. Perhaps I should say nasty things about his car, and nice ones about yours? Hmm, weight saving tips by Tim - remove the engine? Not as catchy.

Ooh, very shiny. Mine is pitted and scored, and the black paint has peeled off half of it. Thankfully I have a NOS one somewhere for when I get round to restoring her completely! That will be in about ten years at the present rate. Incidentally, fear not about your paintwork - look at the pics of mine and then tell me if you have ever seen a car with flatter paintwork! Outside a scrapyard that is.

Kidding Neily, each to their own! Not really to my taste but I can see the appeal - also piss off all those Golf owners with the blue illumination. The Neilyman bit in the clock looks very good, as does the car picture, but the best bit of all is the griffin and Chevette written in the speedo. Tasty.

I made them! Take your clocks apart, scan the dials, use Photoshop to invert the colours, that gives you white dials with black numbers, add the little pics/coloured bits, as you see fit, print out on photo paper, cut out & `spray glue` them onto the original dials. Swap the back lights for blue jumbo `megabright` LED`s........Job Done!

Very nice, but its not something I could be ar$ed to do. I like the standard dials, very 70's Vauxhall with the trying-to-be-orange numerals. Much nicer than their later mk3 Cavalier efforts.
