Well guys and gals its 6 weeks until the big event so if you're thinking of coming you need to speak up soon.

Someone has pointed out to me that I may not have been 100% clear on the fact that you don't need to commit to coming for the entire weekend if it doesn't suit you - I can literally accomodate any requests that you have for when you'd like to turn up and what you'd like to do - just contact me for a custom price (I'm still working on yours shedmonster).

On a personal note can I just say that I don't fancy having to sort out a load of peoples attendance at the last minute as it'll create enormous headaches for me so if you are coming then please tell me soon (now, preferably!).

By all means bring your viva Paul, the more the merrier. Just one thing though - isn't it the same weekend as that viva event and Drive for Independance etc?

I am doing the Peakdistrict bash the weekend before

http://www.vauxhallviva.com/vivaforum/viewtopic.php?t=5126

Its the first half of the "Drive for Independance" Ian's car is driving scotland to peaks, to wales. The following weekend ist dong wales to kent to wales.

I dont plan on doing Kent to meet the same people as previous weekend, and some of the things you guys have planned sound good .....

I was going to make a post later on here about this event as intrested parties are limited at the minute to a weekend in the peaks, driving up and down hills, eating food and drinking beer etc!!

If anyone here is intrested do drop me a line (not stepping on the feet on the super sounding national for this group!)

Well in that case what are you waiting for - get yerself signed up :D :D :D

Likewise - if it's not going to step on any viva people's toes then I'll put a post on your forum mentioning the national event.

STOP PRESS STOP PRESS STOP PRESS STOP PRESS STOP PRESS

A couple of bits of news for you - thanks to a little bit of price squeezing on my part, the national event now comes in at an unbelieveable £50 per person!!!

I will also no longer be taking money for Gaydon activities - if you want to do Karting or 4x4ing on the day then it's £4.80 in cash. Sorry to change that at the last minute but a large number of our attendees won't be taking part in these activites. Obviously everyone who has already paid for this will be re-imbursed.

If you still want to come but haven't done anything about it yet then you need to let me know ASAP!!!! Yes this means you!!!

I would also appreciate PM's from those UK resident forum members that won't be attending, so I can narrow down the final numbers further. Thanks. Ralph

I'm not sure when we'll be back from NZ - Hannahs sorted all that out. I just sit by the window and drink orange juice. Once back we wont have a car and will have to put the truck through its test so i'll let you know when I know more.

...so basically is it possible to let you know outcome a few days prior.

NZ desperately needs more immigration and fresh blood. Our eyes are getting far too close together!

Right that it everyone - the absolute final, non-negociable closing date for entries is Wednesday 30th August - speak now or forever hold your peace.

Alex - you can ignore this :)

Well, it looks like a fair few people will be coming along on the Sunday... and I don't want to count my chickens before they've hatched but I think it's safe to say that there are going to be some rather nice Chevettes in attendance which cannot be found in our 'Members Cars' section!

So if you're reading this... even if it's 8am on Sunday then come on down to Shakespeare County Raceway and say you're with Chevettes.com. It should be an excellent day out!

Whos on the list for being there on the sunday?

Hactually it turned out rather well thanks young Tortron, or at least it did for those of us that weren't driving  I was surprised I didn't see you there by the way - a complete lack of commitment to the Chevette cause is what that that is

Seriously though it was a cracking good pub with a live Jazz band (and later live rock band) and one way and another over the course of the everning we were given several free beers which is always nice.

I'm back from the national now by the way everyone as you probably guessed - pictures to follow :D

Just got home after a five hour drive, exhausted.

What a cracking weekend that was, left me grinning from ear to ear. A thousand thanks to Ralph for organising the whole shindig, and thanks to everyone who turned up - it wouldn't have been the same without you.

Incidentally Ralph I now love hot rods - you've done a very bad thing

And next time Nick orders lasagne, everyone has to try and help him finish the monster. A reckless challenge to bet the waitress.

I guess we know what the plan is for next year then! In the meantime I'll design a crane fly killing device.
