Herbies hatch is a good 'un

my car was booked in at 08:55 this morning and it was a frantic effort to get it ready with the engine only being started for the first time since Billing '06 at 08:30 8)
i was very confident of it passing, it has done less than 500 miles in the time i have had it and it's been in my garage out of the elements when not in use, as it passed the last MOT without any problems.
i did have 4 advisories though:
1 - Wipers slightly smearing screen, i had a slight leak in the garage roof which caused the windscreen to have dirty rain water drip on it and dry so i cleaned it with Meguiars window cleaner but forgot to clean the wiper blades so they were dirty. it rained on the way home so i used the wipers and they were fine :?
2 - Oil leak, common "on a car of this age" and they couldn't pin point it so it may have come from me missing the hole when i changed it or off the oil filter housing :D
3 - Nearside rear tyre sidewall slightly perished, that'll just be a new tyre then
4 - Nearside door mirror missing, Vauxhall never fitted one when they made it :?

I can confirm upon visual inspection yesterday that Nick's hatch is indeed a beauty, although his method of adjusting the idle speed was a tad interesting

It's amazing what passed for luxury spec back in 1981! Very comfortable little car though, and a pleasure to look in my rear view mirror to see a Jamaica Yellow hatch behind me.
