Felt like starting a new topic about non-Chevette cars (yes I know there are other places for this!), but am really just interested in what everyone else likes, other than their beloved Chevettes that is.

I have a particular soft spot for all seventies BL metal, specifically the Rover SD1 in either 2600 or 3500 flavour. Big, cool, thirsty, looks like a Daytona and futuristic even now, imagine seeing it in 1976! Quite like the Princess as well. Wouldn't say no to a Dolly Sprint either.

Obviously like all 70's/80's Vauxhall stuff, would love a Mk1 Astra GTe or Cavalier Mk2 SRi 130, and would definitely have a big Royale or Senator. One day I hope to have a pristine example of every mark of Astra from 1 to 4, I have realistic dreams! Would need to find somewhere for them to live first. What does anybody else like?

Do you mean Kombi, as in the VW splutterbox camper thingy? I suppose they are cool, but not really my thing! Did you guys get the same cars in NZ as they did in Australia (sorry thats probably like comparing England and Scotland - close to each other but very very different)? Just thinking of things like the Austin Marina 2.6 with the E series six pot motor. If our Morris 1800's suffered with chronic understeer, how much more scary must the 2600 Austin version have been?! Glad to see you guys got the British version of the Chevette out there!

I have always wanted a nice huge 1975 Cadillac Eldorado with the 502 Chevy big block under the hood with exhaust headers coming out of the fenders and going into a side pipe and it would be purple with gold trim.I would drive it with the drop top down and a nice pair of aviator glasses on http://www.cinemavehicles.com/project_details2.asp?id=5
(Austin powers Pimp mobile Caddy) 8) 8)

Hmmm, nice car. Like the way the exhausts appear to be coming from the top of the wing! I'd like to have a shot of Arfur Daley's XJ6 from Minder, or else Terry's Capri, just for the novelty value you understand (I'd never actually choose to drive a Crapi). I remember when The Bill were tooling about in SD1's and mini-Metros, and the programme was about Police doing Policey things, not a glorified soap opera. CID raced around in Mk2 Cavaliers, and Burnside was top of the tree. Don't remember seeing any Chevettes though. Ah, 80's nostalga!
