Watch out for dodgy (doggy?) beetles...

Workmate of mine had one- it looked lovely alongside my brown and rust Herald- all shiny and leather interior etc. Guess which one was still running 4 years later

Stick to classics that don't have a cult image- they're much less likely to have been tarted up 'cos they're not worth much more even if they are. Come to think of it, doesn't that just about cover Chevettes :D

Hahah I haven't bought a beetle, nor can I afford one.

Just thought it was a uncanny thing to find!

If I could afford a VW, then it would be a spilt screen bus 8)

Cornwall (Newquay area) seems to be a happy hunting ground for those.... must be the surfing connections.

The guy I was on about has one now, too, but he had to pay to get it restored in Brazil, then shipped to the UK, to get a good one at less than silly money, and it's still LHD.

Saw a real beaut locally once- a Samba with all the curved roof lights etc. It even had a registration something like SAM13A.

Nearest I've been to one was travelling in the back of a 1966 pickup to go fruit picking in the summer holidays as a kid. It was just the farm hack, then.
