Ah. I never thought about the fact that the lad would have no idea who Harry Enfield is. Never mind, I found it funny at least.

i put "smoke on the water" on th ejukebox in my local the other day and some kid asked me "who's this by?" Then had the tenacity to suggest it sounded like the darkness. I could have hit him with my pool cue!

I like their version of this town ain't big enough, and some of their other tunes are decent. I suppose Justin Hawkin's voice is in the marmite category, you either love it or hate it!

As a 'youth' on the forum, i'd like to point out that the other youth in question is a moron, probably a chav. Not only do i know Smoke on the Water, i also can play richie blackmoores riff from that, as well as most of the lyrics! So nah! rofl! And, for the record, the darkness incite me to find an unused large lump of wood and committ sodomy with their lead singer using it, whatever his blinking name is. Grr. I may be young, but i still have taste...

Anyone remember the Alexander brothers version of the typewriter? Genius.

The Darkness may not be to everyone's taste, but they stand out for me simply because they are a novelty act which harks back to the days of Glam Rock proper, when Noddy Holder had big hair and even bigger trousers. Unlike today when the charts seem to be filled with yet-another-boy-band. So on that count alone the Darkness seem worth it. However, for music I'm not so keen. Give me the 70s any day. Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel 'Make me smile' is easily my best tune of all time. Anyone else got another one?

Or if you are really really old. How about "Matchstick Men and Matchstick cats and dogs"...

Hmm, The Shadows?
Weren't the Beatles a boy band then? *Runs and hides in Dancing_with_Vauxhalls kitchen cupboard in the hope of hiding from the Beatles fans*
