Canadian tire proves their uselessness again.

I asked for a pair of chevette calipers... they didn't have any, so they orderd a pair from another parts chain..... 48 hours later this is the result: a pair of calipers to fit a caprice! (a 5000cc rwd GM car) I used to have a couple of "b platform" cars so I was able to identify them anyway.

I used my best Dr. Nick Rivera voice and said "What the hell is that!?" when the parts monkey pulled the caliper out of the box.

I'd had thoughts about trying to put thoes spindles / rotors / brakes on a chevette because they are plentiful, cheap, and really good brakes! However the spindle is nearly 4" taller than a chevette one.

I've actually never had CT give me the _wrong_ parts before... although the last time mine needed calipers, I think my mechanic spent 2 hours working on them because it was faster and about the same price as finding new ones...

The old ones are pretty seedy all around, and the new premium ones were priced at $24 a piece. To me it's worth it to not bother worrying about thoes damn bleeder bolts that sieze up and snap off so readilly in this rust-bound climate.

I got the addrerss of the part-shop that sent the wrong bits to Crappy-T, and I'm going there in 15 hours to get the right stuff.
