Anyone see the snooker?

Postby Doive » 02 May 2006, 12:10

Spent most of the last fortnight glued to the Embassy, sorry 888.com world snooker. Some great matches, some fantastic performances, but the final was a good end to the tournament. The first couple of sessions were a bit scrappy, neither player really hit their stride until the third session and even then only in short bursts. I'm so thrilled Graeme Dott won, Ebdon is a fantastic player and a true gentleman, but Dott has been striving so hard for years, he deserved to win on determination alone.

No, but I keep telling the missus that yes, people DO watch it, whenever she moans that surely it can't be worth the BBC devoting a channel to it for half the evening.

DOES Pot Black still exist? Or am I giving away my age again?

Nah, pot black is a long dead format. Bring it back I say!

As for the waste of a channel, well the BBC sees fit to fill my evenings with Eastenders, Airport, Celebrity-whatever-it-is-this-week and dozens of other banal, irritating and downright infuriating no-brainer programmes they peddle out. To be honest, I only ever watch the news, the odd documentary (anyone see planet earth?) or the snooker. So as far as I am concerned, my 115 quid a year is wasted on all the other rubbish they show!

I'm a nature program junkie  I thought it was brilliant! David Attenborough just gets better and better! Let's hope he keeps going for another few years yet!

Big Break! Now that was saturday night entertainment - and you could win John Virgo's latest silly wastecoat too. I wonder if the took the winner on a night out in Rochdale as well

I think Jim Davidson married most of them.

And as for JV's waistcoats, they were the stuff of legend.
