Saab 9-5 facelift

Postby Doive » 25 Apr 2006, 15:44

Is it just me, or is this a fairly horrific facelift as they go?

I saw one the other day for the first time, and thought 'What the heck was that?!' After some brief research I stumbled across another example of the beauty. What have they done?!

Oh dear - I think Saab have been smoking the same thing that BMW were smoking when their model range got a facelift :?

The word that best describes this for me would be 'Fugly'.

Err... if you have unsavoury thoughts about cars Dave then I think you should keep them to yourself   That word clearly means something different (along the lines of effing ugly presumably) where you come from

It comes from the Micra advert where two words become one.... what does it mean down your neck of the woods?!

It is usually used to refer to a person of the female persuasion whom, despite not being considered particularly attractive by the speaker, he would still very much like to err... get to know better!

Perhaps a suitable synonym would be - "She's ugly, but you still would!"

I just can't help thinking the replaced design was much better looking, rather than those daft chrome surrounds on the headlights.

To be honest the previous one wasn't the world's greatest piece of automotive styling either! I like this variety (out of all the designs of 9-5):

See I'm looking at this little beauty - nice classic 9000. Can't go far wrong with this design.

Correct David! The 9000 was the last 'proper' Saab anyway (although in my book its not really a classic) - all the others were designed post GM takeover.
