Ok, a pretty awful car, and best of all it's beige.

I do remember picking these out from the crowd for some unknown reason. Anyone else remember them particularly? My uncle had a nice metallic green 1.6 GL.

The post above is my own personal opinion, it is not meant to upset or cause offence, if it does bugger off.

I agree it's pretty terrible, especially the melted caramac bar interior. But the question is, should a car like this be considered a classic? Discuss.

I guess in someways yes, but in other ways no.

I said no due the fact it doesnt really have a 'cult' following like most classic/retro cars.

Oh I dunno, I think it has a certain... wotsit about it. I wouldn't say it's a classic though... and I probably wouldn't want to own one but I don't find it particularly displeasing to the eye. Give it 10 years, then we can re-assess its classicness.

The front end looks like a particularly ugly monkfish. But I've always liked the tail, something to do with those interesting rear lights..... sad I know. However, I feel it is just a bit of Japanese early 80's tat, but having said that it would be a shame if nobody ever saw one again. I mean, if nobody saved Allegros we would never know how awful they are!

I think I prefer the front to the back to be honest in a kind of boxy-jap-crap way. I'll say one thing though - you wouldn't catch me paying 750 notes for it :P

Definitely not. Although it is fairly original, and the mileage is nice and low. If it is similar mechanically to the Bluebird, it would make a good taxi.
