I know Neily's car is earth shatteringly fast, but he has a cam in there lumpier than the Pennines (or so he thinks anyway) so it doesn't count. Besides, he drives an bottom clenchingly dull astra estate now. (My astra doesn't count - every journey is an adventure because the brakes don't really work)
surprisingly yes, but then again whats your idea of fast?..i found it was near enough standard after a good krypton tune.. however i took it on the rolling road near me and it spent a few hours and i found it was considerably faster than before.. they said that a new fast road cam would maximise the carbs capabilities so would a 4-2-1 .. infact i noticed a huge difference when i had the straight through exhaust done...
when i say considerable difference.. it's jumped from 55bhp power to 73.. then with the exhaust 77bhp.
so an increase of 22bhp .. which you certainly can feel.
obviously it isn't XE or 2.0 webber carbed engine fast,
but it's ample for me being 19 & insurance troubles etc.... so yeh
