where is the chassis number on chevette hatch

where is the chassis number on chevette hatch

Just like it says looking for the chassis number on my chevette got a funny feeling i welded a patch over it :oops:

What year is it.? Early ones post face lift were on a lil strip riveted to the top dash, visible from the passenger side looking in.

Late models, post face lift were stamped into the floor near the sill between the drivers seat and the drivers sill section under carpet flap.

dont forget under the bonnet on the drivers side innerwing (behind the headlight)

it A reg i think it was on the drivers floor what a t*t welding over it it going to look right dodgy now if i cut the patch off

If you could locate the exact location of where the # should be, then carefully cut out a section to expose it, would that do hte trick? Possibly weld around the edges to make it look clean if need be.

Someone here should have a picture of the proper spot.
