Mounting points for rear belts

Postby Mull » 19 Apr 2008, 19:45

Thanks to Coggers I know have some new seatbelts to fit to teh back of teh Chevette which means this kids can come out with us.

Now that Haynes manual gives no clues as to where they should be mounted. I have worked everything out except where to mount the inertia housing.

I have removed the trim panel in the boot and directly below the upper fixing point behind the trim panel I found the holes (badly marked by me on the picture) on the body and when I looked at the back of teh trim panel it has a hole scoured ready to cut.

It might be a stupid question but I need to ask is this the right mounting point?

Where did you (or Coggers) source the rear belts from? I'd like to get a set.

I was looking at the securon website and nearly wept at the price but that man Coggers came up trumps through work I think????

Quite a tidy bit of kit to.

It's been suggested that I get a strengthening plate for the back of the panel with a captive nut and that these may be available to buy. I hope so as I have no access to a welder to make my own  and I really want the car up and running for spring bank holiday. Soooo close now.
