Door Sills ~ What fits what

Postby Mull » 07 Jan 2008, 13:57

Well after finally selling my Golf GTI I am ready to start getting what I really need for my Chevette.

Quick question I have some rust on the front of the sills. Should I buy just the skin or complete sills? I'm thinking complete sills as they are hardly expensive.

Second one at the risk of coming across thick the sills I am getting are only listed as 2 dr and van. Are these the same sills as the 3dr Hatch?

Thnanks for your help

There £13 each + vat and delivery for complete sills.

Not sure how much for skins.

Why is there somewhere cheaper for decent quality?

Not sure if there is anywhere cheaper but £13 sounds cheap enough to me.

Only asked because i was thinking of replacing one of my sills or part of it.

I bought a Hadrian sill for a MK2 Cortina years ago and i found the fit ok :D

I tried getting sills (full) off Hadrian for my 4-door about 7 months ago through my motor factor and they told me Hadrain do not stock them no longer :?

How are you getting them Mull? Do you order them direct or through your motor factors? Would it just be the Van/Estate sills left :?

I looked them up on google.

Picked the parts from the catalogue on Sunday and sent an enquiry. Got a response Monday morning saying they have them.

When I looked they had the sills for the 4 door listed, but you would have to make an enquiry for stock.

Hope this helps, sorry I haven't got the link to hand.

V8, you may find you need to nick the bottom to turn the end in on the A pillar end or the bottom of the wing might be kicked out. I had this with a set from Hadrian recently.

You can see in this pic, the bottom flange is tight against the inner sill yet the front is out.

Looks like a not bad fit for a pattern part. I need to buy a pair of full sills for my car.
