Narrow Chrome Rear Bumper for Kadett Coupe. Chevette saloon?

Postby Mantadoc » 20 Jan 2007, 14:10

Hi folks,

What is bumper portability? I'm guessing hatchbacks are the oddity and 2 and 4 door saloons and Kadett Coupes share the same dimensions?

Reason I'm looking is I need a narrow bumper in chrome for a Kadett Coupe.

(Someone accidentally tore it off my wifes car by hooking the corner)

What have you got, I need the bracets as much as anything?

(I know Chevettes don't have the numberplate light cut out, but if otherwise the same I have a drill and a file!)

Thanks.

Did the Kadett bumpers not tend to have the rubber insert? I'm not sure if they are interchangeable with saloons or not.

Rubber insert was actualls spring clipped onto the outside (remember one of Jamie's bumpers - opelkadett.co.uk guy), and that was on the later wide chrome dumpers, as in the early, later wide chrome bumpers were just chrome and the later, late wide chrome bumpers had rubber on top too.

Where as I need early chrome, but with overriders lol (actually her overriders are ok so I can re-use these so just base bumper and brackets needed really. Doesn't have to be mint, don't want it to look like someone stuck an old car on a new bumper in stead of the other way around lol.

Will consider anything, even a pair.

Just as the brackets are luckily rusty, I have no solid bent ones to straighten, or straight rusty ones for a template so would rather save the hours of grind and try and fit to get what will still be an ugly bumper about right.

bumpers on kadetts are all the same for all models, only the brackets on the rear differ from limo/coupe to hatchback/caravan.
