Fanbelt change? Is there an easier way?

Fanbelt change? Is there an easier way?

I have come to the conclusion that the Haynes manual is pants :)

Sad I know but I am doing my first fan belt change by now I have usually either written off or sold my older cars :lol:

Is it just me with my shovel hands or are the two of the three bolts to slacken the alternator a pig to get at :x

The bottom one I had to get under the car, not too bad. However the top one (bulkhead side not front of car) I have had to take off the air filter and take two spark plugs out :?

Finally the Haynes Manual says tighten in sequence but then doesn't tell you want sequence :roll:

Sorry if I am being stupid :oops: :oops: but help would be appreciated.

the sequence they refer to is not to bollock one bolt up and leave the others loose then bollock another one etc. but to tighten a little at a time all of the bolts so the alternator pulley stays inline with the crank/water pump pulleys :wink:
