Water leak, really stuck ,need ideas!

Behind the alternator bracket on the 1256 theres a little disc. Dunno what its there for but mine had sprung a leak right in the middle becuase of rust. Easy I thought, tiny little hole, i'll just put a tiny blob of weld on it and all will be fine. Unfortunately it still leaked a bit, so I welded some more, and then some more, but it wouldn't stop leaking, so now the whole disc is solid weld and its leaking worse than before!!!!! This drove me nuts and thoughts of selling up and moving to spain sprung to mind. I hope someone has an amazing idea so I can get my car back on the road.

Cheers,
John

Yeah, just had a chat with someone about it, sounds like I might be able to source one somewhere and just plug another one in so to speak.
Do you know know any other cars that share the same plug by any chance?
