1256 Sump plug ~ Easy Question

Postby Mull » 02 Jun 2007, 20:24

Anybody shed any light for me. I've looked through the owners and Haynes manual and none of them tell me what size socket fits the sump plug.

I need to buy one as I haven't got the right size and want to give Halfrauds as little money as poss.

Get yourself a big six sided 1" socket or spanner. The sump plug can be a little tight, but it seems to be made of tougher stuff and can take a fair bit of abuse, certainly a lot more than these modern engines with their 13mm plugs that get munched up easily.

Service now finished on the chevette and she sounds a lot healthier, don't think that the oil had been changed since the car was laid up two years ago.

Looking forward to a summer of use before the major work starts.
