Vauxhall Chevette DriveTrain Conversion Questions.

Postby CUL8R » 31 Jan 2007, 00:04

Hey guys

I have just aquired a 1977 Vauxhall Chevette Hatch (UK Model) , and I intend on Using it for Rallycross/Autocross/Gymkhana...

Anyway I have a few questions Im sure some of you will know the answers too..

I'd quite like to Put Either Isuzu Piazza front brakes on it, so if you wouldnt mind telling me whats involved there, it would be great.(Apparently bolt on , with a tierod needing to be swapped??)

Possibly fit the Gemini or Piazza Differential also..

Also Would be keen to put a 1600 Holden Gemini Wagon (Think you guys call them a Kadett C??) into it. Or I have been told of a possible 1600 Head onto the 2.0 SOHC Piazza motor, so if anyone could throw any light onto the subject it would be greatly appreciated. Using the Gemini gearbox (manual, Piazza is an auto).

Cheers,Chris

Vauxhall Chevette Hatch 1977 (ish)
Holden Gemini Wagon 1980's (Early 80's)
Isuzu Piazza ????
Keen to stick within using parts from those 3 if at all possible(Can get another Chevette though)

From New Zealand By the way  8)
Oil leak? What oil leak? That puddle under the car is just sweat from all that horsepower....
