2.0 Frontera engine

Postby shuvit2go » 25 Oct 2006, 21:11

Does anyone know if the 2.0 8v engine in the Frontera is the same one as in other Vauxhalls and also what hp they kick out?

I've just seen one on fleabay local to me and wouldn't mind slotting one into the shuvit.

Cheers chaps.

It depends which other Vauxhall engine your talking about. It a derivative of the CIH engine, not the OHC engine.
Anyone have a 6R4 for sale? Unfortunately I've only got £1K spare but I could throw in a few eggs to sweeten the deal!

I think it's the same as the engine in the mk3 Cavalier 2.0, apparently with 98bhp in the Frontera.

They also did a 2.4 though, which if my memory serves me correctly is a derivative of the old Opel CIH engine.

Thanks guys

I've got a Nova GTE engine in at the moment, but could do with a bit more power to get us up Derbyshire's many hills.

I thought the engine might have been similar to that fitted in the Astra etc i.e around 115hp or so.

Cheers Chris
