RIP shuvit-tims nova

Postby shuvit-tim » 27 Feb 2006, 02:03

i started stripping her today, and will finish doing so tomorrow. i couldnt justify putting her back on the road, the shell just isnt safe. Completely and utterly gutted though, i think i may cry when the shell gets taken away by the evil hi-ab   She served me so well over the last 3 years, cant believe she's finally gone.

I've put a lot of the parts from her into my mates caged shell and we're going halves on it as a road rally car, just to get 12months experience in until i can get some money to get something a little quicker. The shell could do with a spray and there has been some dubious welding just beneath the a pillar i need to get looked at. The new one shoudl be good fun when it's going, but it wont quite be the same.

p.s - i never thought I would have to break the nova, i always thought that would be done fo me by a hedge, nothing short of a miracle and testiment to her impeccable handling.

Bad news mate, it's never fun stripping a car you have grown attached to, been there done that.

Good you have a replacement. Can you road rally a Disco then?

nutty, just for once, i'm going to bite my tongue.

doive -haha the disco could be quite handy over some of the whites! (really really bumpy tracks!) but i dont think it would have sufficient pace to keep within OTL without having to miss out huge chunks of the route! plus, if i came home with a cage in th eold mans car i think he would gut me!

I'll be at Kielder next year then, waiting for the Perkins sponsored Disco TDi 300 to blast past.

MKII 1400SR mate

32/34 dtml weber on astra GTE manifold. full stainless one piece custom exhaust, lowered 40mm on uprated shocks, 5 spoke vectra alloys, astra GTE ATE callipers and vented discs. She went like stink. the shell is now long gone and cubed.

Went to watch a friend in the bro teifi road rally on the weekend, there were a couple of novas out going like stink - made me miss her sooo much!
