Bam's Kadett

It's very nice Bam, I saw a couple of Kadett Rallye's at Billing today (of which I should've uploaded a photo...soon). Your car would've liked the 300 mile round-trip fine - I regularly do a very similar journey in my Chevette. One thing I can sympathise with is how boring that particular journey is.... A34... A43... lah lah lah. Speaking of which I don't envy you driving up that way on Grand Prix weekend!

Nice motor Bam.

That makes the Hampshire Club numbers almost double :)
We should pick a day and all meet up for a drink sometime, me old Chevette could do with a blast

I do like the stripe effect, looks cool - very retro :)

Keep up the good work,

Good idea Grim, where abouts in Hants do you live Bam (if you don't mind me asking).

Course I don't mind you asking. I live in Lymington, more old people than old cars but some nice twisty roads ! I think a meet at a nice forest pub sounds like a fine idea. Don't know when...a sunday evening sometime ? Let Me know when is good.
Probably going to Breamore house in ?
It was 'a bit of a trek' to Billing (didn't know about Grand Prix 'till we hit diversion signs, doh!) but got to see 3 GTE's, 1 Rallye & 1 1.2s (auto) coupe, & some nice Chevettes, 'A' I guess it was worth it.

Yeh Doive, Two coupes.....but only for a week !!! With the joy of buying 1 comes the heartache of selling the other :?
Wish I could keep them both, but I guess I'll have the pictures & the memories.
Looking back up this thread, anyone up for a meet round here sometime ? Some nice pubs in the New Forest.

Excellent work with the lowering job Bam - looks spot on and will look even spotter on once you've refurbed the Rostyles.

Would I be right in thinking they are 5" rostyles? Have you thought of trying to get hold of some 5.5" ones? Would be a very subtle addition to the car.

Thanks Guys. I'm sure they are 5.5's with 175/70's Ralph (though I will check) , it's probably just because you've got used to Shelly's fat wheel/tyre combo (which does look very nice)

IIRC The Opels have the 5.5" and the Vauxhalls have the 5.0"

I think that some Kadetts came with 5's but most coupes were 5.5's. Having checked mine are indeed the latter.

Oh well in that case sorry, i stand corrected Bam.

You know what would look really good on the car?

Ally Cat Rallye Specials  :D

Indeed they would Ralph. At the moment I'm kind of holding on & hoping to one day get some of these...

Nah, classics are so passe :P

Just in case you didn't already know, you can still get them new btw.

:P Straight back at ya ! :)
Yeah, I just need some more pennies before I can look at some new ones. Then I'd have to decide 13 or 15 inch (might look too modern with the pretty low profiles I need to shoe them in ). Wish they did 14".
Not saying I definately won't bid on your wheels but good luck with the sale if I don't.
Classics passe

Dear BAM!

Blacking out the areas behind the front grille has done wonders to improve the look of your car!

The wheels you have in mind are pretty dang slick looking. Keep in mind that for keeping the 'old school' look 13" wheels are almost ideal. Mikuni's widened 13's for example.

Thanks Chris. I was surprised how much difference that little bit of black paint made :) .
Yeah, reckon 13's will be the way to go if I ever get enough £'s saved.

The hawkeyed Mr Flatters has just pointed out to me that I've been taking pics with my white balance on incandescent instead of auto, hence the bluish tint  , think I may have played with my phone after consuming alcohol sometime.
Must do better !
Thanks Sean

BAM
