Did he specify how you were infringing his copyright?

The guy's an idiot - rather than just pushing his weight around - justified or not - why doesn't he make it possible to buy the FULL manual?

Heck, I'd buy a reasonably priced hard copy.

Not sure it's much help to you really but strictly speaking one guy cannot own the copyright to it. I assume it's Andrew Duerden as he is down as the guy who compiled it.

Generally speaking any copyright on the likes of the sport part manual actually belongs to the company the author works for so strictly speaking only Vauxhall and /or Magard should be entitled to give you any grief legally because they are the copyright holders. The actual author would be doing it as part of his employment and as a result would not be the copyright holder.

Guess who's other half is a lawyer

However to save any agro your probably better off just removing it like you have done.

It's such a shame that someone can take issue with something which was being used purely to help other enthusiasts out. It's not as if you are taking any personal gain from it. Amazing when you look at how much of the old Ford literature, workshop manuals etc. are plastered all over the net and Ford couldn't give a toss about it because it all relates to cars over ten years old.
