Well, while technically neither mine or indeed a car, here is a pic of the work van and the moon.

<img src="http://doive.chevettes.com/cars/chevette/pics/DSCF4016sm.JPG">

And a slightly more artistic one.

the chevette is yours, therefore it is not a chevette owned by someone else

Doive, what'll be be looking for to score the next point? We all seem to forget this part  and a 4motion diesel panel van?! Why can't VW ship awesome stuff like that to Canada

Alas, I must vote no... :( The challenge was to find another chevette in their area.

It's a fantastic van. I've spent the last month doing scandanavian flicks up and down forestry tracks in Ireland 8)

As for the next challenge, I hadn't forgotten I was just thinking one up. I wanna make it a bit tricky.

How about a picture of your car (chevette or not) next to a Gatso speed camera?

Ralph must lose the point as well then because a 90 mile one way drive does not constitute "their area" :)

If he drove that far to get a scavenger pic, he should get a point just to make up for the petrol! We can't be mean to the mod who is "...by far the most popular." Eh?

Actually the challenge was:

CancerWagon wrote:Next up: Your car (chevette or not) next to a chevette of any flavour that isn't yours

I don't understand why we are being mean to me, what have I done to deserve it?

As for not being in my area - where do you live Nick? - The Midlands
Where do I live? - The Midlands

If I had gone to Canada that would have been out of my area (but I still would have got a point ).

you live in the East Midlands. the Midlands is a huge area of England. there's two counties and the urban sprawl of Birmingham between us.

To me, the Midlands are much to far south to be in any way 'Mid'. Anything below Sheffield to me is south. Ralph lives virtually in France.

So same problem but in reverse then. Personally I feel slightly aggrieved at the refusal of people from both the north and the south to acknowledge the area of my birth and upbringing as a unique region of the UK. Anyone from the south calls me a dirty northerner and anyone from the north a soft southern fairy. But I am neither of these things, I am from the midlands and proud of it (and not that horrible bit thats full of Birmingham either, the east midlands as Nick says). My perspective on the country is that 'the South' starts somewhere north of Oxford and 'the North' starts in south Yorkshire. Not forgetting those other important areas 'the West' and 'the East'.... then theres's Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland. It really is a big old country and if everyone wasn't so busy sitting in their particular area of it slagging all the other ones off based on antiquated stereotypes then maybe they'd have more time to go and see it (I'm not aiming that comment at anyone here by the way)!

How's the speed camera photo coming along by the way? I am afraid that I'm out of contention for the moment as I've sprained my ankle and can't drive

Scotland has the same problem. Everyone assumes it ends at Edinburgh, or that Fort William and Inverness is as wild as it becomes. In fact there is another 200 miles north to go of rugged and remote beauty, and that is without mentioning the hundreds of islands around the coast.

I wasn't making a point of ignoring the Midlands, I'm very well aware they exist and in fact have been the home of British engineering for over 200 years. But from my point of view, 40 miles from the Scottish border, everywhere in England is south of me.

falling out of the curry house?
i thought the general rule of Northerner/Southerner was at the point of where you lived in the UK? (the Midlands have no relevance) :)

There are ones around that take pictures of oncoming vehicles, they look like the one taken above.

I'm happy the challenge has been fulfilled :D

Next mission! Your Chevette (lol) parked in a disabled/handicaped/wheelchair park. Extra awesomeness awarded, if you wait long enough for your car to receive a ticket/get towed :P
