Chevettes.com T-shirts

Postby Shellysowner » 09 Nov 2006, 22:31

Anyone want a Chevettes.com t-shirt?

There's a t-shirt printing firm local to me who I think would be happy to undertake the work. All I need to do is come up with a design so:

Would anyone like to do a design?

Does anyone have a computerificated line drawing of a Chevette? (for my design idea)

I am reasonably skilled with photoshop but I'm quite happy to let someone... better take over from me.

I think it'll be cheaper to get them in one single print colour but the shirts themselves can be a variety of colours and sizes (as long as Matalan sell it).

By undertaking sourcing the t-shirts, doing the design and generally organising the whole thing I should be able to produce them for sub £10 per shirt + P&P.

I intend to do them in one large batch and have them posted out in time for Xmas.

Please register interest, make comments, give ideas, suggestions or just general abuse below:

You can mark me down for one. As for the font there was a groovy one in the Chevettes.com stickers link but when I've just checked all of the graphics have been shrunk down to a white box with a red cross.
Anyone have a 6R4 for sale? Unfortunately I've only got £1K spare but I could throw in a few eggs to sweeten the deal!

Good point - stickers, but that's a whole new thread.

I dislike white t-shirts passionately, and black t-shirts don't do it for me. Would anyone object to something like perhaps a khaki coloured t-shirt, with a picture of a Chevette outline of some form, possibly in white or even black, with matching or contrasting chevettes.com writing. I'll knock together a picture if I get a moment.

Yep Dave, khaki is in the Matalan range. Personally I was thinking of cream printing and a line drawing of a Chevette from a front corner view with www.chevettes.com written underneath. I'm gonna get 2, brown and orange :D

Here's our SAAB club T-shirt. Maybe this is for a little inspiration.

Is it the angle of the vehicle or the actual style of the image that you prefer? The reason I have done it from the front is simple - more t-shirt designs = greater cost so I thought I'd try and design a t-shirt to please both hatch and saloon lovers.

I was going for cream-ish so as to be suitable for a variety of background colours:

Orange, brown, black, blue, red, green, grey etc.

Hope thats Dark Green Ralph. Put me down for a few shirts please. I do like the 3/4 view, but would prefer a hatch.

Now how about this for a novel idea, lets go for your design on the front and then have a rear view of either a Saloon, Hatch, or Estate. on the back :)

It's good idea - but it will add significantly to the price of t-shirts.

I'll look into it.

It's a great idea, but as Ralph says I'd expect it to increase the price significantly.

I'm going to bodge up a design idea this weekend. Kinda brings together all the chevettes, hopefully appeasing the battle between hatches, saloons and estates. If anyone has any suggesstions before I start... go for it :D

the concept: three horizontal lines, simmilar imagry to the already done proposed shirt images.

top: front of a vauxall, front of a opel, front of a chevy (early, than late) front of a hoden

center: "www.chevettes.com"

bottom: back of various chevettes (hatch, estate, saloon, different variants)

The reason I preferred the earlier effort is due to the angle used.

To please everyone why not have a frontal view (like ralphs) and just have an outline drawing no fill (this will help solve issues over colour). Would love to do one for you lads but have no time as it is (design Degree) will try to find a spare few mins some time. :)
theres only one thing better than a chevette - and thats THREE chevette's

I know it's "i-cheeze" but I came up with this.... Can change out the background for any shirt color. Comments good or bad anyone?

If nothing else it killed an hour of my time at work. :)

Got all the major brand logos for different chevettes around the world on there for good measure....the pic was of "the best car I ever had," the origonal Weapon of Choice. With it's 'antenna that does nothing' on the back 8)
