 I really thought we had grown up a bit on this

One of our Valued and most imaginative members, who builds a lot of very significant cars and has provided a lot of useful help and information to the forum, has said something that a couple of the Mods didnt like and he gets banned.

Is it your aim to ailianate anyone who doesnt agree with your views ?

FWIW I agree with what Space Kadett was saying on the other post, it has become less friendly on here of late, but what was the point of banning him Ralph :?:

A hollow victory I fear

I would like an explanation please as it does seem excessive and unneccasary  :( :(

I would rather we kept the arguing away from this forum to be honest but if you really want to make this public, Mark got banned because he threatened me - end of. He can say anything he likes, he can swear, he can lie about things that I have said or things that I have done - he can even question my parentage if he so chooses but I am not going to put up with threats of violence via pm.

If Mark would like to apologise then I'm sure I can find it within myself to do the same, un-ban him and we can all go back to being the happy fluffy community we once were. If he would like to do this then then he can email:

I don't know what's gone on here but I certainly hope it's not a case of people disagreeing with others view & then weilding what 'power' they have. If threats have been exchanged then the removal is fair enough.

I've seen it on other forums whereby people end up getting banned & new topics being locked/removed.

"A sip of power goes to the lightest minds"
Anyone have a 6R4 for sale? Unfortunately I've only got £1K spare but I could throw in a few eggs to sweeten the deal!

In my opinion the intonation of the PMs received by Ralph were threatening in their manner and tone. I don't want to see users banned, but when people resort to personal insults and threats to meet people 'for a friendly chat [smiley face]', then I feel a ban is warranted.

Ralph is not the guy that Mark has painted him to be. A nicer chap you could not wish to meet. And that's not a case of all admins sticking together - if I didn't mean it I wouldn't say it. And just to prove the point, I think Neily's a grumpy old sod. Only kidding!

I Think the only way to be sure on this is let the forum see the PM`s from both sides, If it is as Ralph says then the ban was Justified.

Knowing Mark on a personal level as well as on a number of Forums, he is Fantastic guy and would not react like that.
There is more to it than is currently being made out

The Full PM trail shows that  hence why it should be made public

I am sure Ralph is a Nice guy as well, I just dont believe in this instance he is as "whiter than white" as is being made out

Cheers

No I think everyone would rather we didn't do that Dom. All of Mark's friends will have seen them as have all of mine so I don't think we need to post them on here. I've not got anything to hide - its fair to say I gave as good as I got but do we really want to create pages and pages of endless and completely pointless arguing?

I don't think anyone's saying I'm whiter than white - when someone argues with me I argue back, which is perhaps not so much of a great quality to have but then Mr Space Kadett has always had a particular ability to rub me up the wrong way :)

Reading back through the pm's then maybe there is a chance that I took them the wrong way (although quite frankly I still think that I was being threatened), but then maybe Mark took mine the wrong way too - who knows.

At the end of the day, what I can say for definite is that I am sick to death of all this bickering - why can't we all get along and just talk about cars? And in that spirit, as I previously stated - if Mark would like to email me indicating that clearly I have grasped the wrong end of the proverbial and that wasn't what he meant at all, then he can come back on and start over.
