Do any of our friends on the continent know what happened to the above car? About 3 years ago I went to see it but didn't fancy taking on the jobs at the time but about 18 months ago I contacted the owner who'd recently sold it to a commitee member of the Vauxhall Convertible Car Club. Unfortunately said person only bought it to sell-on for a profit & I believe it ended up in Deutschland.
Anyone have a 6R4 for sale? Unfortunately I've only got £1K spare but I could throw in a few eggs to sweeten the deal!

Oh, well done Doive, did you use the `Search` to find it, or did you open every thread `till you found it?

Sorry Nutty, couldn`t help myself there!

No, in fact I started from first principles. I built my own search engine from transistors because the one on this forum is ineffective. For instance, when I typed in 'Targa', it produced half a dozen related threads which wasn't what I expected at all. My own search engine produced a mouldy ham sandwich, a slightly bruised avocado and dissipates enough heat to power a thermonuclear reactor, but is obviously superior in every way to your feeble search facility. Mwahahaha. Ahem.

For some reason I can't see any photos on this forum - I'll try another computer.

I've just followed the link to the earlier thread - nearly £3K indeed! It needed that again spent on it to do a proper job.

The original seller for years kept taking it to Billing, did the NEC classic car show once & even advertised it in the likes of Classic & Sports Car. Funnily enough he started at £3K, dropped to £2K & ended up asking for £1K.

There was nothing intriniscally wrong with it (it had received a cheap restoration about 10 years ago) but needed everything doing - full bodywork restoration, interior etc. It drove miserably & probably needed bits replacing on the suspension & the engine - although it did have an MOT - it just felt neglected & knackered.

Against my better judgement offered £500 for it but was turned down. I had a change of heart a year or so later but as I said it had gone.

Worst thing was, I'd wasted a 450 mile round trip to Chiswick & on my way there collected 3 points a £60 fine!

No photos? Do they appear as red Xs in the posts? Depends what browser you are using, for some of the older posts the ebay photographs will not appear as they have likely been removed. Can you not see any pictures at all?
