Only Here For The Beer

Postby JOCK » 13 Apr 2006, 23:34

Finally got round to getting myself a copy of the book which tells all about the Late Great Jerry Marshalls life. I can really recommend it to you,any true Vauxhall Fan should own a copy in my opinion. The book entitled Only Here For The Beera reprint of the original 1978 edition is fascinating to just briefly flick through, nevermind read, with rare pictures etc. (hmm must learn to read properly)
Take a look

Yeah those piccies are quite interesting aren't they. I particularly like the picture on page 69 of 'Old Nail' looking well mean and that really sad looking escort smoking away like most Fords do!
Have you seen Baby Bertha. I've seen her go down the strip at Santa Pod at the Performance Vauxhall Show. Also seen her and met Bill Blydenstein at the Historic Motorsport Show. Got some photos of us stood in front of Bertha with Bill.

Nope, never seen Baby Bertha - who owns her? Can you remember what time she ran down the strip?

Last I knew was that Cambridge Motorsport owned her. But they are a bit mardy. Notice she wasn't there with the rest of Vauxhalls Motorsport Legends,at Billing last year The Biggest and the Best, not even present. I reckon its a travesty that Vauxhall dont own her.
Can't remember track times, just FAST and fastest of all when Jerry took her down the Strip!
