Going all 70's

Postby default_user » 16 Dec 2005, 00:48

Having seen some of the Kadetts in 70's black/yellow livery I fancy doing my Chevette like that. Here's a very badly photoshopped rendition of the look I'm thinking of. You'll need to use a bit of imagination as it looks quite dull but take a look in the Kadett gallery and you'll see how I envisage it. What do you think? Also, it will have Manta GTe 5 spoke alloys on when finished in anthracite/polished rim.

Like this one in fact:

Always preferred white / yellow GT/Es myself, but that colour scheme looks rather good in your photoshop!

*agrees with harry*
out of curiosity, (and my apologies for the brief hijack - how many bhp do the kadette GTEs kick out?)
when all else fails, rivets, cable ties and bodge tape will see you through

Not as many as you'd think, it's only a Manta GT/E CIH engine. Around 110 bhp, IIRC

That's looking very sweet mate, are you going to go for the full GT/E graphics as well?

GT/E graphics

Postby default_user » 19 Dec 2005, 11:03

No, I just like the colour scheme. I'll probably detail it somehow, perhaps with some discreet V8 badging and colour coordinate the interior but I don't want to replicate a GT/E. Other suggestions are welcome. I'm at the daydreaming stage at the moment and plans may change but this is my current plan.
