Tweeking emissions down

Postby Shuvit-pinto » 22 Jul 2005, 23:38

OK, so now that the car has faild its MOT on just the emissions, how do I adjust the carb if I have not got the "SPECIAL TOOL"?

I need to get it down from 10.58 to some where near to 4.5 I think.

MOT not bad for a 21 year old car that has stood for nearly 4 years!

what has it actually failed on, co or hydrocarbons or both.

have you still got the breathers feeding into the intake system?

definately disconnect the breathers into a seperate bottle if they are not already - this is the differance between pass and fail on one of mine.

otherwise check the ignition is right, after that your onto adjusting the carb which others will have to advise you on.

if you have just changed the oil this will put more vapour into the breather system.
